Product Care and Warranty
Product Use & Care Guide
Thank you for choosing SLEEPTRONIC®.
Congratulations on your SLEEPTRONIC® mattress purchase! SLEEPTRONIC® builds quality into every product we manufacture. Each sleep set is engineered for maximum comfort and to help ensure restful and rejuvenating sleep.
By observing the guidelines contained in this document you will enjoy many years of wonderful performance from your new purchase.
Guidelines for Use & Care
A. Use the correct frame. If the mattress is placed on a platform bed, make certain the platform is solid. If intended for use with an adjustable base, make certain your unit is “approved” or “recommended” for adjustable base use.
B. Use a mattress protector to safeguard your investment. Mattresses displaying stains are ineligible for warranty service. Even if a manufacturer’s defect exists, stains including soils, soiling, vermin, mold, or mildew will void your warranty.
C. Couples who share a bed should choose a Queen or King size mattress.
D. Rotate and flip your mattress as required. Do not attempt to flip your mattress by yourself—seek assistance from another adult. Do not use any handles to flip or rotate; handles (if present) are for positioning only.
E. Keep your receipt, and do not remove the law tag from the mattress. These documents contain important information required during any warranty service.
F. Never jump or stand on the bed. Do not bend or fold your mattress. Permanent damage voids the warranty.
G. If your mattress has a removable cover, do not machine wash the top cover. Use a professional dry cleaner to clean the top cover. Never wash or clean the bottom cover. Never remove any inner coverings.
H. Do not iron on your bed. Heat can damage the ticking and cushioning materials. Burns and scorch marks void the warranty.
I. Do not use an electric blanket or heating pad if your set includes memory foam or gel-infused memory foam.
J. Expect normal changes in softness and recovery times of high-density foams (including memory foam) due to use, temperature, and humidity.
K. Do not allow any liquid (cleaning solution or otherwise) to penetrate through the surface fabric to the underlying materials. Fluids can damage upholstery layers.
L. Packaging material of the mattress and foundation (including plastic film/bags, handles, and other promotional packaging) is not covered by any warranty and should be discarded immediately.
M. Bedding sold as a “floor sample,” “as-is,” “distressed,” “discontinued,” or received as a promotional item has no warranty.
Buy as a Set if Using a Set
Our mattresses are specifically engineered to be used in combination with the appropriate new box spring or foundation, or on a previously existing or new adjustable base or platform bed. Placing our mattress on a previously used foundation or box spring voids your warranty.
Rotating & Flipping
Step A • Rotating (All Mattresses)
One-Sided Mattresses: Rotate your mattress 180° every January, April, July, and October.
Step B • Flipping (Double-Sided Mattresses)
Two-Sided Mattresses: Rotate your mattress every January and July. Flip your mattress every April and October.
Single-Sided Construction: SLEEPTRONIC® requires rotating your single-sided mattress once every three months to extend its life and to distribute body impressions more evenly across the sleeping surface.
Two-Sided Construction: Two-sided (“flippable”) mattresses require flipping and rotating twice each year and then quarterly thereafter. Follow the diagrammed process of rotating, turning, and flipping for two-sided mattresses.
Use Correct Support
A high-quality bed frame, platform bed, or adjustable base is crucial to ensuring the long life of your new purchase. A bed frame with a rigid center bar supporting full, queen, and king sizes must be used. SLEEPTRONIC® requires the correct number of legs that reach the floor—five on full and queen sizes and six on king size.
Appropriate Supports
Twin: 4 legs • Full: 5 legs • Queen: 5 legs • King: 6 legs
Use a bed frame with a center support and legs that reach the floor (full/queen: 5; king: 6). Solid platform or adjustable bases are acceptable. If using slats, they must be solid wood, at least 2″ wide, spaced no more than 2″ apart, and include a rigid center rail with support legs reaching the floor on full, queen, and king sizes.
Comfort, Mattress Height & Tufting
SLEEPTRONIC® does not accept warranty claims arising from post-purchase dissatisfaction with comfort level (firmness or softness). Take ample time to select a mattress; if sharing, both parties should test the mattress in store before making a final selection. “My spouse doesn’t like it” is not a warranty issue.
New mattresses may be taller than older sets. Before purchasing, ensure the chosen set is not “too tall.” Statements such as “too tall for my headboard/footboard,” “I have to buy new sheets,” or “I can’t get on my mattress because it’s too tall” are not warranty issues.
Some SLEEPTRONIC® mattresses feature hand tufting, a premium feature designed to extend product life. If you are concerned about “feeling the tufts,” select a different non-tufted model. Feeling tufts is not a valid warranty claim. When measuring a “sag,” tufting indentation is not counted toward total depth. Tufts removed accidentally or deliberately are not a warranty issue.
Sagging vs. Body Impression
Body impressions are normal in quality bedding. Materials used in your mattress are designed to provide varying levels of firmness, support, and comfort. Generally, the softer and thicker the mattress, the more likely it is to develop body impressions. These are normal and should be expected, not a structural defect. They indicate the mattress is conforming to your body. Normal wear is not covered under this warranty.
How Long Is My Warranty?
Warranties on mattresses produced by SLEEPTRONIC® range from one year on some budget-oriented products to several years on our most luxurious mattresses. The warranty period appears on the law tag affixed to your mattress. Look for “WT” followed by four digits near the end of the tag. The first two digits are the total length of the warranty. For example, WT1505 = total warranty of 15 years; the first 5 years are the non-prorated period.
Initiating a Warranty Claim
Your Authorized Retailer is your best source for information about your SLEEPTRONIC® purchase. They can assist if you have questions or believe your set has a manufacturer’s defect. All service should be handled through the retailer where purchased. If service cannot be obtained through the dealer, further assistance may be available through the manufacturer.
If you believe your mattress and/or box spring has developed a defect covered by this warranty, contact the store where you purchased the set. They may require you to submit photos or schedule an independent inspector to visit your home to investigate. Should the store determine that your claim deserves further inspection, they will arrange shipment to the closest SLEEPTRONIC® factory or inspection location. At our discretion SLEEPTRONIC® may repair or replace any warranted product materials. Costs and arrangement of transportation to and from the SLEEPTRONIC® factory are the responsibility of the consumer.
Manufacturer’s Limited Prorated Warranty
Sleept ronic Sleep Products® provides a limited, prorated construction warranty for a specified number of years from the date of original purchase for mattresses and foundations when purchased in sets, or for a mattress alone when placed on a platform bed, adjustable base, or other rigid surface. Purchaser must retain the bill of sale as verification of purchase. The Warranty Term is specified on the law tag affixed to the mattress. Warranty is valid for the original purchaser only. If found to be structurally defective, prorated replacement or repair will be provided within the warranty period. All parts and labor outside the non-prorated period are charged to the purchaser according to the prorated schedule. Discontinued products will be replaced with models of comparable quality.
What Is Proration?
Proration distributes the value of a mattress over the anticipated life cycle of the product. The longer you own a mattress, the less it is worth toward repair or replacement. During the non-prorated portion (if any), SLEEPTRONIC® will repair or replace at no charge for a manufacturer’s defect. After the non-prorated period, charges are assessed as follows:
Original purchase price ÷ Number of years in warranty = Annual Rate
Number of years elapsed since purchase × Annual Rate = Repair/Replacement Charge
Example: Original price $600, code WT1505 (15-year total; first 5 years non-prorated). Annual Rate = $600 ÷ 15 = $40. If replacement occurs in year 6, prorated charge = 6 × $40 = $240.
Exclusions
Warranty does not apply to ticking/cover or handles. Warranty is valid only for the original purchaser when bought new. When used with a foundation, the mattress and foundation must rest on an appropriate frame that meets support requirements: (a) using a frame with a rigid center support with a fifth leg that reaches the floor; (b) using bed rails with at least 10 wooden bed slats; (c) using a solid platform; (d) using an adjustable base; or (e) using other rigid steel cross supports. All King size sets must be placed on a frame or bed rails with a rigid center rail and six legs that reach the floor to maintain warranty coverage. Body impressions and normal softening are not covered. Damage from abuse, misuse, unsanitary conditions, infestation, mold, or liquids is not covered. Stains void the warranty. Foundation damage caused by improper use is excluded. Corner guards are not covered. Dissatisfaction with comfort or feel is not covered. Never bend, fold, or jump on any SLEEPTRONIC® product. Guest-room or hospitality use voids the warranty.
Limitations
This Limited Warranty is the only warranty for SLEEPTRONIC® mattresses and foundations. It cannot be modified by any retailer or employee. It excludes all implied warranties, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by law. The sole and exclusive remedy under this Limited Warranty shall be repair or replacement within the term. SLEEPTRONIC® will not be liable for incidental or consequential damages arising from use or inability to use the product or for breach of this warranty or any other warranty, to the extent permitted by law. Some states do not allow limitations on the length of implied warranties or the exclusion/limitation of incidental or consequential damages; in such cases, these limitations may not apply. This warranty provides specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary by state.
Repair or Replace?
A determination by SLEEPTRONIC® that a warranty problem exists does not automatically guarantee that the mattress or foundation will be replaced. SLEEPTRONIC® may repair the defect prior to replacing a mattress or set that exhibits a defect.
Warning
Do not attempt to turn, flip, or position a mattress by yourself. This could cause personal injury and may result in damage to your mattress. Handles (if present) are for positioning only and are not designed to support the full weight of the mattress. Do not remove the law tag. Do not expose the mattress or set to open flame. The mattress is not fireproof.
